Rose Battle
LUNCHEON HONOREE
Rose Battle has always had a deep enthusiasm for modeling. After moving to Atlanta with her husband, Alvis, Rose independently landed jobs with many major brands.

Just as her modeling career was beginning, it was abruptly cut short when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. While caring for her mother at a nursing home, she became inspired to create fashion shows for the patients and their families, bringing together two of Rose's passions – fashion and family.

When Rose was able to rejoin the modeling industry, she relied on the strong relationships she had built over the years and became a modeling agent. With the knowledge she gained and wanting to leave a legacy for her children, Naja and Aldrick, she began her own agency in 2006.

In 2011 Rose enrolled in The Edge program and received business coaching services including assistance with access to capital. Through assistance from the Edge Rose landed a contract with Macy's and a loan to increase her marketing efforts for her business.

Ultimate Model Management Inc. has been recognized as one of the top African American women owned businesses in Georgia. UMMI has also been branded as the preferred provider of professional models for awards ceremonies, including The LACE AWARDS, The Diamond Awards, and The Coca-Cola Awards.

Rose hosts a Model Boot Camp at C.A.U.S.E. of Elegance at least twice a month, which trains young girls and women of all ages about the modeling industry and how to pursue a career in modeling.

For her tenacity and generous spirit, The Edge is honored to award the 2019 and first Thomas and Barbara Hughes Impact Award to Rose Battle.
